Empowering Families of Children with Disabilities
Families of children with disabilities are invited to a special event on Saturday, April 5th, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, at the San Joaquin County Office of Education’s Wentworth Education Center (2707 Transworld Drive, Stockton).
This event offers an opportunity to connect with other families, explore helpful resources, and gain practical strategies for fostering positive interactions. Highlights include:
- Coffee and breakfast
- FREE childcare
- Resource vendors
- A Parent Voice Presentation byMonica Stelmack, sharing her inspiring journey as a parent of a child with exceptional needs.
- Empowered Transitions for Individuals with Disabilities: Preparing for Adulthood, led by Stephen Torres-Esquer, guides individuals with disabilities and their families through the transition from school to adulthood. The presentation will dive into long-term planning and self-determination through interactive activities and strategies to promote independence and inclusion.
